Indian paramilitary troops stand guard during a strike in Srinagar, the summer capital of Indian Kashmir, on 21 May 2013. Most shops, businesses and schools were closed across Indian-controlled Kashmir on 21 May during an all-day strike called by separatist group Awami Action Committee, to mark the deaths of two key Kashmiri leaders. Mirwaiz Mohammad Farooq, chief cleric of Indian-held Kashmir, was killed by unknown assailants in 1990. Abdul Ghani Lone, was gunned down at a rally held to observe the anniversary of Farooq's death in 2002.
